Braylen replied: "All the doctors and dieticians say targeted weight loss is not feasible, specifically in the waist and belly places, but I achieved it with acai berry. I appreciate they say that pills do not work, nevertheless they certainly worked for me, and they have been featured on CBS News too. There's a free trial happening right now at , why not try it, why not?"
JustDreamingg replied: "Do 100-200 sit ups a day and you will get a gradually firmer stomach and sit ups have also proven to help "double chins". Also, go to your local dvd store and have a look at last years exercise dvds because they will be just as good as the new ones but cheaper.
To help lose weight you should keep a diary and write down everything you eat and drink in every single day because it will make you feel guilty when you eat something you shouldn't have. Also, cut out booze they have hundreds of calories in them, try drinking more water it is good for your skin and it has no calories in it. In addition, try cutting out snacks- if you do feel peckish eat celery or an apple as they have so little calories in them that you work off most of it by getting up and eating them (:
hope i helped x"

Do cardio about an hour a day.

Katelyn S replied: "Ok seriously the last few questions I have looked at look like a freaking ad for acai and colon cleansing I'm sick of it. I don't know if that works I haven't tried it but anyway.. I am pretty much in the same boat as you right now I just have some areas that I'm trying to lose some fat from. Unfortunately you can' t target those areas so what I am doing and recommend is doing at least an hour or cardio I would say at least 3 days a week and then do 100 crunches or some sort of ab workout. Just do what you can but you have to really try, and get your heart rate up, get sweaty. Also, I have read that doing intervals helps you lose weight faster, like running really fast then slowing it down for a few minutes and back and forth. And last, as far as the "diet" goes I would say cut out all unnecessary calories from drinks and try to stick to just water and maybe some green tea or something. I drink V8 Fruit and Vegetable juice every morning and it gives me if not a full serving, close to a full serving of both fruits and vegetables and it tastes just like fruit juice. Take a daily vitamin and fish oil pill, and if you cook your own meals I HIGHLY recommend this cook book: Fresh Food Fast, it's buy Cooking Light and it is amazing! It has tons of easy recipes that are all very healthy and "5 ingredients." Well good luck, I hope I helped at least a little."
structured diet plan? links, own ideas. whatever.
branddxb replied: "you dont need to starve or deprive yourself.
for a workable diet
here is what my dietician suggests . follow a practical diet. start
your meal with a soup or a huge salad. this fills u up. Make sure your
plate has this ratio - 50 per cent veg, 25 per cent carb. remember
potatoes, corn and peas come in carbs category, 25 per cent
protein.this will prevent cravings too.an occassional treat is OK.
have a snack every three hours. fruit ideally berries, or soy nuts.
just 2 tbsp of soya subsides hunger pangs. switch from white rice and
bread to brown. eat 900gms of veggies a day.Lose a kilo a week. that
is permanent loss. pick an exercise regime you like.
get a pedometer and try to take 10,000 steps everyday."

Which diet plan is best? For the new year, I need to go on a controlled diet plan. I was thinking about Nutrisystem, but I'm not sure if its that good. I definately need a structured diet plan as I know I would just cheat or go get more convenient food if I don't have one. Thats why the nutrisystem plan appealed to me. Of course, I plan on exercising as well.
Help?

The company is called Independent Achievement and then there's a fantastic workout program called P90X from a company called Beachbody.com. Keep it up...it's worth it."

mibandibee replied: "Honestly, don't waste your money unless you are committed to EAT all of the food nutrisystem sends you- otherwise what is the point? You would basically have to take these meals with you to work too--
But I find the answer is MODERATION. Seriously, with exercise and eating in moderation ( smaller meals) you will lose weight! This is how I lost my weight after having my children- I have 3 kids and after EACH child I lost all my weight by eating smaller meals ( not dieting but not eating junk food all day either) and exercise. I started exercising however 6 days a week, and I still exercise 5-6 days a week- cardio and weights ( cardio 5-6 days and weights 3 days a week) I was amazed at the results too. I too have a lot of discipline with exercise so maybe that is why it helped-- believe me though, there are days I would rather sleep and not do anything! LOL but I make myself continue to work out and I eat whatever now. I try not to eat too much junk food though in one day- but I do love my sweets!
I hope that helps.
So like in moderation, that would be HALF of the amount your normally eat at one sitting....and pick healthy snacks in between."
LeslieAnn replied: "Spiffs, Over the last 18 months I gained 30 pounds after keeping all excess weight off for 7-8 years. My last child left home and I've been doing an emotional eating thing and I've been stuck....
All that to say this: What worked and I hope to get back to it soon is that I learned to eat only when I was physically hungry. I ate until politely full. Drank water with meals. Ate at table with utensils. And daily asked God for help in eating. Other than that I had no "diet" food/ or rules. I ate anything I wanted when physically hungry.
For me "dieting" focused me on myself/my food/my weight. When I turned my attention off myself and stopped dieting and asked God for help....then the weight just took care of itself.
However it happens for you, I wish you all success. My husband and I will be doing the same thing this year and try to get ourselves into a healthier condition.
Have a great New Year!!!"
what is the best diet plan? I need to loose weight, but I want to do it the healthy way. I do not want to take diet pills, but I do want some type of guidelines to go by. I need something structured like planned meals I can cook for my family. Any suggestions?
britsorsticks replied: "Try cooking low calorie meals with lots of veggies."
Omar C replied: "I agree with you, you should not try to do a "diet" you need to change your "lifestyle of eating" what I mean is 4 simple things you can do to increase your metabolism, be healthier and feel better.
First eat 5 to 6 small meals instead of 3 meals, by this I mean, have "healthy snacks",
Don't eat after 9 pm any calories (unless you go out)
Cheat once a week, (by this I mean say, I'm going to eat that PIECE (NOT THE PIE) of cheesecake and enjoy it). People think they have to starve themselves of what they like
Dint drink alcohol for a while (it has a lot of calories)
Eat lean protein and less carbs, like tuna, steak, turkey, chicken, soy beans.
Dint miss breakfast,
Have some smoothies that are full of fruit not sugar.
Start working out. run, jug, cycle, jump rope join a gym
This will change your life and the way you look in less time than you think.
I have lost 40 pounds, have muscle and lost my love handles. I never starved myself, I just work out and eat right, AND i cheat once a week! If I do cheat more than once then I say, well then I guess I'm going to have to run 1 more mile this week.
Good luck and keep up the motivation"

My Fitness Hut replied: "A good resistance workout for maximum fat-burning, muscle strength/endurance, cardiorespiratory health and bone density benefits is a full-body circuit weight training session. It will definitely help to change your body composition. It basically works this way: perform each exercise 12-15 repetitions with no rest between exercises. Choose a weight (free or dumbbell) that you can handle for 12-15 repetitions. After the last exercise, rest for 2 minutes and repeat the same circuit. Total workout time should be 30-60 minutes. You should do this workout at least 3 days a week on nonconsecutive days. Do this circuit workout for at least 4 weeks. You may need to increase the weight as you progress.
Examples of exercises for a full body circuit training session would be: squats, bench press, walking lunges, bent over rows, shoulder press, biceps curl, low back extensions, tricep dips, step-ups, stability ball crunches, reverse crunches, bridges, planks and lateral lunges.
Combine this circuit weight training with 5-6 days of cardio exercise of 30 minutes and proper nutrition. In order to lose weight, you must maintain a daily caloric deficit (burn more calories than you consume).
After 4 weeks of circuit training, you could change your strength workout program to prevent your body from adapting to your workouts. So, how do you know if your strength training program is working for you? If your fitness goal is LEAN and TONE, you will lose inches from your waist, hips, neck, arms, legs, etc. and your body fat will decrease. You should take these measurements at least every 4 weeks to measure your progress. Don't worry about the weight scale at first. Since muscle weighs more than fat, your weight might even go up a little at first. But you will be on your way to acheiving PERMANENT WEIGHT LOSS AND FAT LOSS because your lean muscle mass will gradually replace your burned fat mass. And this will permanently speed up your metabolism. You should get a doctor's clearance before beginning any exercise program."
Mary L replied: "I used Z-Slim all natural appetite suppressant found on and lost weight. I did not have to change what I cooked for my family as the product helps you eat less but you still eat what your family is eating. Might be worth a shot."

What sort of structured diet might work for me? Here are some facts about myself:
.5'7-233lbs, 23 year old Native American female
. Ovo-lacto vegetarian (I eat eggs & Milk.)
.I carry a lot of my weight in the stomach and bum.
.No outstanding health issues, except periodic vertigo.
.Family history of Diabetes.
I believe I might have an abnormal sensitivity to sugars and carbohydrates--if I eat even a little I tend to crave more food. Low carb diets do interest me, however I'm vegetarian and had problems even with 'South Beach.'
My goal is to begin diet/exercise in June, losing about 2lbs per week. Goal weight 170 by January 2008.
What diet plan might work best for me? Any book or website resources very appreciated.
Thank you :)
kambam replied: "lots of protein and lots of fiber.
Since you're a vegetarian, you should eat a lot of peanut butter.
I know it's very high in fat, but it's very very high in protein.
Also, there are these fiber bars called 'fiber one'. They're very delicious.
Just limit yourself.
Will power can accomplish anything.
Good luck!"

bakfanlin replied: "Well, for me... DIETS DON'T WORK
What does... is common sense. When finally you reach a point when you are sufficiently disgusted with yourself... I mean really disgusted...if you aren't, it won't work, then you can start to make a life change. Its not a diet. You have to change the way you live your life.
1. Never give up. Never give up. Never give up. If you fail... its just a new starting point.
2. Shut your mouth. You don't need to eat all that crap. And its craps isn't it? ISN'T IT? Get real. All your life you've heard what is normal... eat right, All the facts are right in front of you. Pay attention. Serving sizes DO matter.
3. Get off your butt. You must exercise. Bottom line... you must burn more calories than you take in. Period.
It worked for me. See that my pic over there? Thats my "I lost 80 pounds" grin. Its simple...1, 2, 3.
This is my mantra... repeat it over and over as needed:
Never give up.
Shut your mouth.
Get off butt.
Good luck!"

da b0mb replied: "Well, I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian as well.
I would try a diet that's mostly protein, veggies, and fruit. Eat mostly fruit (especially lower sugar fruit) and as much veggies as possible. And you can also add in beans, ff cottage cheese, and eggwhites for protein. Stay away from bread, pasta, and cereal as much as possible. If you do eat it, make sure it's whole wheat (not whole grain, whole WHEAT).
So it is a low carb diet.. and also low sugar if you stay away from sugary carbs.
But, yeah.. just experiment and see what you like and can stick to and what actually WORKS for you."

Which diet/ website helps the most with weight loss? I need to lose 14 pounds to obtain a healthy weight.
I have already tried and it didn't work for me because I really need to have a structured diet plan.
If it's a website it needs to be free.
I heard the special K diet works. Has anyone tried it? How hard did you have to work?

Bread is ok, as long as its eaten in moderation, you can have for breakfast wholemeal bread instead of the normal stuff.
And try and go for low fat foods.
Also with the exercise dont do more then you can handle you will strain yourself."

What you do is you cut DOWN your amounts on a weekly basis and wean yourself off of the soda.
Do not remove the bread! You need your grains or else your systems lose vital nutrition.
Talk to a nutritionist, man. Diets like that are not healthy. They make you sick."
iracoon replied: "Rules:
1.Eat an early breakfast with Carbs+protein and lil fat.
(that kick starts your metabolism so you're burning calories from early on in the day...)
2. Eat 6 small meals a day, alot of fresh veggies and unprocessed food.
3. Fix your meal timings and don't binge in between. (having a cup of black tea during the day helps I think)
4. Tone up your muscles so that you automatically burn more calories during the day.
5. Try taking up a sport that makes you feel good... i do snowboarding and swimming!
6. ~Little known fact~ Work your lower body muscles... this boosts testosterone production and hence burns more fat and aids muscle building!
Good luck"
